Harry
Latshaw, MS, RVT, VTS(Anesthesia)
Owner, Service Technician/Sales Associate
Harry Latshaw attended
Purdue University where he earned a BS in Animal Science and a
Masters in Veterinary Physiology & Pharmacology. Harry worked
full time as an Anesthesia Technologist in the Veterinary Teaching
Hospital at Purdue for 22 years, winning multiple teaching awards.
Seeing a need for quality
service support, Harry, along with his wife, Freida, founded Vetamac
in 1990. Since then, the company has become a recognized
leader in the industry.
Harry is a member of several professional organizations including the American Veterinary Medical History Society, National Association of Veterinary Technicians in America, Indiana Veterinary Technician Association, and the Academy of Veterinary Technician Anesthetists. He continues to give oral presentations at numerous conferences including the Annual Purdue Fall Conference for Veterinary Technicians and the AAHA National Conference. Harry also enjoys returning to his love of teaching by presenting lectures and labs to students currently in the Veterinary Technology Program at Purdue.
Harry is currently Vice
President of Vetamac Inc. and is the company's primary sales/service
technician. He and his wife, Freida, reside in the Rossville,
Indiana area.
Freida
Latshaw
Owner, Business Manager
Freida Latshaw has been
involved with Vetamac since it's formation in 1990, overseeing the
daily operations. She has an AAS in Business Management from
Ivy Tech Community College.
Freida currently serves as
President of Vetamac Inc. and is the Business Manager. Along
with handling various administrative duties, she works as an
in-house lab technician in the vaporizer lab. Freida also
oversees the operations of VAD, an anesthetic machine manufacturing
company.
Freida and her husband,
Harry, have 3 children, 6 grandchildren, and live on the farm that
Freida grew up on with their three dogs, Lexie, Gabbie, and Gracie.
Her hobbies include gardening and fishing with her Dad when
possible.
Debbie
A. Coleman, RVT, VTS (Anesthesia)
Service Technician/Sales Associate
Debbie Coleman graduated
from the Animal Health Technology program in 1980 from Truman State
in Kirksville, Missouri. She worked in a two-man mixed animal
practice in Paris, Missouri for 8 years. In the fall of 1987,
Debbie joined the anesthesia staff at the Iowa State Veterinary
Teaching Hospital. Her duties as an anesthesia technician at
Iowa State include sharing the emergency duty for small and large
animals. She also teaches third year veterinary students
anesthesia in surgery lab and fourth year students in the clinic.
Debbie is a member of the NAVTA, VECCS, and charter member of the AVTA where she served as President from 2005-2006. She has provided lectures to national meetings including WVC, ACVIM, AVMA, and SWVC. She has also provided anesthesia lectures to state meetings in Missouri, North Dakota, and Iowa.
Debbie joined Vetamac in
July 2005 and is a field service technician/sales associate based in Iowa.
Debbie resides in the Woodward, Iowa area with her dog, Tillie, and
cat, R.C.
Stefanie
Skiles
Service Technician/Sales Associate
Stefanie Skiles graduated
from Purdue University in December 2005 with a degree in Animal
Agribusiness and a minor in Ag Economics. Stefanie joined
Vetamac in March 2006 working as an in-house lab technician in the
vaporizer lab. She currently serves as a field service
technician/sales
associate in Indiana.
Stefanie resides in the
Rossville, Indiana area with her husband, Chad, daughter, Madison,
one dog, and two cats. She enjoys working with her husband on
their hog farm which is owned jointly with his brothers.
Stefanie also enjoys working for Skiles Construction, the
construction company owned by her and her husband. Her hobbies
include reading, cooking, and outside activities.
Pamela
Bellamy, RVT
Service Technician/Sales Associate
Pamela Bellamy is a
Registered Veterinary Technician with over 20 years experience in
small animal medicine. She worked for 9 years as the Head
Veterinary Technician in a small animal practice where she was
responsible for training other staff members, surgery, and
anesthesia. In 1999 Pam joined the staff at the Iams Company
where she handled technical calls, provided education on nutrition,
provided in-house training, and worked with the Pet Loss Support
Line. She also used her vast knowledge of behavior problems to
help pet owners resolve those problems. Pam is a member of the
Ohio Veterinary Technician's Association.
Pam joined Vetamac in June
2007 and is a field service technician/sales associate based in Ohio. She
resides in Yellow Springs, Ohio with her husband, Ken, their two
cats, Stuart Little and No Mo and their lively Border Collie, Katy.
Pam's interests include gardening, cooking, and novice agility.
Carla
J. Hufford
Office Manager
Carla Hufford has been with
Vetamac, Inc. since July 2004. She has an Associate's Degree
in Accounting from Ivy Tech Community College. Upon
graduation, she worked in accounting and tax preparation. She
brings with her over 10 years experience as a Customer Service
Representative with a local financial institution.
Carla is Secretary of the corporation and serves as Office Manager
overseeing the scheduling of service calls, accounts receivable,
inventory, and marketing activities. Carla resides in the
Rossville, Indiana area with her husband and three children, 1 dog,
3 rabbits, and 3 ducks. She enjoys reading, baking, camping,
and serving in her church.
The Vetamac Advisory Board
provides oversight, advice and direction to the leadership of the
company. The advisory board is comprised of persons with
expertise in finance, business operations, sales and marketing, and
industry knowledge.
Ann Weil, MS, DVM, DACVA, has been in charge of the anesthesia clinical
service since 2001 at Purdue University. Dr. Weil's research
interests include pain management and equine anesthetic recovery.
Dr. Weil is in charge of the anesthesia residency program.
Tom Eden has a B.S. in Industrial Engineering from Purdue
University and owns two franchises. Tom provides knowledge of
small business ownership and business operations.
Phil Burkle
was a Branch Manager and Vice President of a local financial
institution for over 20 years. Phil currently farms with his
dad on the family's grain and livestock farm.
Larry L. Jackson, DVM, MS, DACVA is Professor Emeritus, College of Veterinary Medicine, Iowa State University. He taught anesthetic principles and clinical application to veterinary students and provided clinical anesthetic service in the teaching hospital setting for 40 years prior to his retirement in 2008.
Cheryl Hurd, RVT, worked as chief veterinary technician in the Diagnostic Imaging Section at Purdue School of Veterinary Medicine from 1986-2000. She is currently co-owner of Veterinary Imaging Consultants, a mobile veterinary ultrasound service throughout the state of Indiana.
