Anesthesia machines: the core unit that regulates oxygen flow and carries the vaporizer, available as rebreathing circle systems, non-rebreathing setups, MRI-conditional models, and large-animal configurations.
Vaporizers: precision instruments that deliver a calibrated concentration of isoflurane or sevoflurane. Agent-specific, and calibrated in our own Indiana service center.
Breathing circuits and bags: the pathway from machine to patient, matched to patient size and to your choice of rebreathing or non-rebreathing system.
Waste gas scavenging systems: active and passive systems that remove exhaled anesthetic from the room and protect your staff from trace gas exposure.

CO2 absorbent: soda lime that scrubs exhaled carbon dioxide in rebreathing systems, changed when the color indicator signals exhaustion.

What equipment do I need to set up veterinary anesthesia?

At minimum, you need an anesthesia machine, an agent-specific vaporizer for isoflurane or sevoflurane, a breathing circuit matched to your patient size range, and a waste gas scavenging system to protect your team. Add a mechanical ventilator for longer or higher-risk procedures, and CO2 absorbent for rebreathing setups.

What is the difference between a rebreathing and a non-rebreathing system?

A rebreathing (circle) system recycles exhaled gas through a CO2 absorbent and is efficient for patients over about 7 kg. A non-rebreathing system vents all exhaled gas and relies on higher fresh gas flows. It is the preferred choice for small patients, exotics, and rodents, where low resistance and low dead space matter most.

Does Vetamac service the equipment it sells?

Yes. Our US-based technicians handle preventative maintenance, calibration, and repair for every machine we supply, as well as equipment from other major manufacturers. You do not need a separate service provider, and that is one less thing to manage.
